Looking to get away but aren’t sure what your options are? Don’t feel like checking the embassy websites for every country in Europe? Well we already did that, so we’ve got you covered! Currently 18 countries are allowing US citizens to visit, so let’s get right to it. If you are coming from or have visited high risk countries such as India, Brazil, or South Africa, you may be subject to additional restrictions.
Note: When returning to the U.S. you will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test, so we have included information on the availability of testing and prices for each location. Additionally this information is valid as of May 24th, 2021 and is subject to change.
Albania
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering Albania will not be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test, nor will they need to quarantine. They may, however, be subject to health screening upon arrival and there is currently a curfew in place between the hours of 10:00PM and 6AM. Albania is providing free COVID-19 tests in public facilities to those displaying symptoms, but otherwise private facilities are offering testing without a referral/symptoms for the equivalent of 85 USD.
Armenia
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering Armenia will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of entry, a certificate of vaccination, or consent to testing upon arrival. U.S. citizens will only be expected to quarantine if they test positive for COVID-19 or display symptoms, and alternatively if they wait to be tested until arrival they must quarantine until the results come back negative. There is currently no curfew in place and no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. Armenia is providing PCR testing to U.S. citizens for an average cost of 30 USD.
Belarus
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Tourists entering Belarus will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival. Additionally, travelers will also be required to self-isolate for 10 days once inside the country. All tourists entering Belarus must do so through the Minsk National Airport. There is currently no curfew in place and no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are currently available to U.S. tourists for around 40 USD.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Tourists entering Bosnia and Herzegovina will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of arrival, however no quarantine period is necessary. There are currently curfews in place which vary by location, but no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens for roughly 60 USD.
Croatia
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering Croatia will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of arrival, a certificate of vaccination, or a medical certificate confirming that the traveler has recovered from COVID-19 upon arrival. They are also required to complete an entry form which can be found here and take a rapid antigen test upon arrival and quarantine until results or received, OR quarantine for 10 days. No quarantine will be required unless the traveler fails to present a negative test or tests positive for COVID-19. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens at costs ranging from 40 - 150 USD.

Cyprus
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Unvaccinated tourists ages 12+ entering Cyprus will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival, be tested upon arrival at their own expense (~35 USD), and complete a Cyprus Flight Pass. Vaccinated tourists will not be required to test prior to arrival assuming they upload their vaccine information when completing the Vaccinated Cyprus Flight Pass, but may still need to test on arrival. There is currently no required quarantine period unless the traveler tests positive. U.S. tourists must enter through the Larnaca or Paphos airports and will be subject to health screening procedures. PCR tests are available at designated labs to U.S. citizens for ~60 USD.
Georgia
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering Georgia will be required to provide a certificate of vaccination, or proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival upon entry. A traveler who enters using a negative PCR test must agree to take an additional test on their third day in Georgia at their own expense, as well as complete an application form. No quarantine period is required unless an individual tests positive or has visited the UK in the last 14 days. There is currently a curfew in place after 11:00PM, but no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to US citizens at any of these labs for an average cost of 40 - 60 USD.
Greece
Open to U.S. Citizens residing in the U.S. or permitted countries
Updated: Tourists entering Greece will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours old or a certificate of vaccination upon arrival. All passengers must complete a Passenger Locator Form at least 48 hours prior to arrival in Greece. There is currently a curfew in placefrom 12:30AM to 5:00AM every night and no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens at a maximum of ~70 USD.

Iceland
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: ALL tourists regardless of origin may enter Iceland with either a certificate of vaccination, certificate of previous COVID-19 infection, or negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival. If the passenger holds a certficiate of previous infection or vaccination, they will be tested upon arrival and quaratine until results are received (normally 5-6 hours). Unvaccinated passengers must undergo two Covid tests with 5-6 days of quarantine between tests. A list of COVID-19 related restrictions currently in effect in Iceland can be found here. PCR testing is available to U.S. Citizens for an average of 64 USD.
Ireland
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering Ireland will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival, or face either a fine of 2,500 Euro or six months jail time. A quarantine period of 14 days and the completion of a passenger locator form are also required for all visitors. There is currently no curfew in place, but people in Ireland may not travel further than 20km from their place of residence. PCR tests are being offered to U.S. citizens by commercial testing facilities (not public) for prices ranging from 120 - 180 USD.
Italy
Currently open to U.S. citizens (including the Vatican City)
NEW: Tourists entering Italy must provide a negative molecular or rapid antigen test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to arrival, complete a self-declaration form before traveling, and self isolate for 10 days upon arrival with an additional COVID test on the 10th day. There is currently a nightly curfew in effect from 11:00PM to 5:00AM, and information on intercity/interstate travel restrictions can be found here. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens within 72 hours for around 75 USD.
Malta
Opening July 1st to U.S. Citizens who have quarantined in a “corridor country”
Beginning on July 1st, U.S. tourists who wish to visit Malta may do so if they quarantine in one of the “corridor countries” specified by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malta. Tourists must also present a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours upon arrival, but will not be expected to quarantine again. PCR tests are available through the Health Ministry (dial 111) free of charge, or for a fee at private clinics.

Moldova
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists (over the age of 5) entering Moldova will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival. There is no quarantine requirement in place for U.S. tourists. There is no curfew in place and no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens at private clinics for a fee of 40 - 50 USD.
Montenegro
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering Montenegro will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours, a certificate of vaccination, or a positive test confirming the presence of IgG antibodies upon arrival. Failure to provide any of the previous three will result in a mandatory quarantine of 14 days. There is currently no curfew and no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens in both public and private facilities - public tests are free but results may take longer than 72 hours while private tests cost between 20-30 USD with results returned in less than 72 hours.
North Macedonia
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists entering North Macedonia will not be required to present a negative PCR test, but will be subject to temperature checks upon arrival. Quaratine is only necessary if coming from India, Brazil, or any country in Africa. There is currently a nightly curfew from 12:00AM to 4:00AM, but no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens for prices ranging from 23 to 95 USD.
Serbia
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Tourists ages 12+ entering Serbia will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR or antigen test no older than 48 hours upon arrival. There is currently no curfew in place, nor are there any restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are available to US citizens for ~12 USD (schedule online here).
Turkey
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists ages 6+ entering Turkey will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before their flight departs OR proof of having recovered from COVID-19. Tourists will be subject to health screening at the airport and if they display symptoms or have tested positive, they will be transported to a hospital or dormitory to self isolate for 14 days. There are currently movement restrictions place which vary by location - to see detailed information click here - but tourists are exempt from curfews. PCR testing is available 24 hours a day to U.S. citizens at the Istanbul and Ankara Esenboğa airports for a fee of ~35 USD without an appointment. Alternative testing locations can be found here.
Ukraine
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Updated: Tourists ages 12+ entering Ukraine will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 prior to arrival and proof of medical insurance covering all expenses related to COVID-19 treatment (Ukranian health insurance can be purchased here). There is currently no quarantine required upon entry, no curfew in place, and no restrictions on intercity/interstate travel. PCR tests are widely available to U.S. citizens at prices ranging from ~20 - 40 USD.
The United Kingdom
Currently open to U.S. citizens
Tourists entering United Kingdom will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 prior to arrival and self isolate for 10 days upon entry and take two COVID tests. There is currently no curfew in place, but there are restrictions on intercity/interstate travel which vary by region. For anyone residing in the UK, travel outside of the UK is not permitted and anyone who violates this rule will face a fine of ~7000 USD. The exception to this rule is having a reasonable excuse to travel, which includes returning home to the U.S.. PCR tests are available to U.S. citizens at a variety of locations for fees ranging from 50 - 700 USD depending on the location and type of test.
